The HR Employees work with extremely confidential data and information. The trust is needed from employees and managers about the confidentiality and security of the HR Information.

The HR Employees do work with the sensitive salary data, career development information and many HR Issues at the workplace need a detailed investigation, which has to be recorded as well.

The HR Employees have the access to the sensitive data and a good HR data privacy policy has to be defined to keep the information confidential. The HR Employees should be categorized and the data can be shared just between trusted and approved HR Employees.

It is very dangerous for Human Resources, when the employees in the organization know, the information are freely flowing out of the Department. The HR Management team has to investigate deeply such a risk and a good HR Data Privacy policy has to be developed.

The employees ask usually Human Resources for the advice and they want to keep their question or issue in the confidentiality. The HR Employee has to distuinguish the confidentiality of the information provided and he or she has to communicate very sensitively with the respected managers to bring a good solution. Sometimes, the employee can ask for a complete confidentiality and HR has to respect it.

The career development and the internal job opportunities are a good example of the HR confidentiality. The HR Employees cannot communicate with the current manager about the interest of his or her employee in the new career opportunity. The approach of Human Resources has to be sensitive and both parts of the recruitment process has to feel the confidentiality as it can break the internal recruitment process in the future.
