HR Responsibilities in Bonuses

The HR Department cannot be responsible for the payment of the bonuses. The HR Responsibilities in Bonuses are quite limited to several areas and the main responsibilities in bonuses are the responsibilities of the management and the top management.

The bonuses are the compensation component with the mixed responsibility between Human Resources and managers. The managers are responsible for the content of the bonus scheme and Human Resources is responsible for setting the general bonus rules in the organization.

Human Resources has to be responsible for the general bonus rules, defining the rules like eligibility, minimum individual fulfillment of goals for the payment, frequency of bonuses and bonus budget creation process.

The managers are responsible for the rest. The managers are responsible for the goal evaluations, making adjustments to the bonus proposals and they are responsible for the communication of the bonus to the employees. They are fully responsible for keeping their employees motivated for the next year and they are responsible for announcing the potential compensation issues to Human Resources.
