HR Data Security
The HR Data are extremely sensitive and extremely interesting for the employees. The internal value of the HR Data is higher than the value for external world. The employees know the relationships in the organization and HR Data can be a very important part of the rumors in the organization. Human Resources has to develop a good HR Data Security Policy to protect the data and the sensitive HR Processes as the full confidentiality and data security is reached.
The HR Management has to decide about the data privacy and the access of HR Employees to the information stored in Human Resources. It is a tough decision as the free access can bring many security breaches and very limited access of employees to the information can slow the HR Processes.
The HR Employees have to be aware of the confidentiality and sensitivity of the HR Data and the special training about the procedures in HR Department should be developed. The HR Managers has to observe their employees and they have to advice them how to work with the sensitive data and the employees have to be forced to follow the basic security procedures, like clean desk, using passwords for the sensitive data and locking computers when they leave their desks.
The HR Employees have to be advised how to communicate and negotiate with the rest of the organization. The HR can be a very lonely place in the organization and the employees have to count on this. HR is not a place to build friendship in the organization and the relationships should be purely professional.
