HR Coaching
The coaching is one of the most effective HR tool for developing the managers and employees. The coaching is about a special technique, when the experienced manager or expert provides constant feedback to managers about their daily practice. It is like the life coaching done by the community leaders and community members to each other. The HR Coaching was developed from the traditional life coaching as it is practiced daily in each church.
The HR Coaching is about the HR Manager, who is broadly recognized in the organization, challenging the managers to find a solution of their issue. The HR Coach never tells the right solution, he or she pushes the managers to apply their own right solution. But first, the manager has to discover the right solution for the team and the HR Coach does not accept the first proposal from the manager, when the proposal is not criticized and the manager is not fully sure about the correctness of the proposal.
The HR Coaching can be a fully integrated into the Leadership Development as the leader is the HR Coach as well. The leader has to find the solution on a daily basis, how to keep a high motivation level and how to keep the members of the organization following his ideas. Without a proper HR Coaching, this is almost a mission impossible.
The HR Coaching is purely focused on developing and improving the leadership and managerial skills and all the managers and leaders should participate in the HR Coaching.
The ideal situation is, when the HR Business Partner acts as the HR Coach as the part of the business partnering is also counseling. The managers do not like the mentoring in the HR area (as every manager is the best HR Manager), but HR Coaching is not that aggressive and the manager can feel much comfortable with the coaching methodology. The proposal and the solution are always the ideas of the manager, not the HR Coach.
The Leadership Development and HR Coaching should be used together and each larger organization should have an older largely recognized member of the HR Department, who can coach the managers as the quality of the management staff will definitely increase the performance of the organization.
