Competitive Base Salaries
The competitive base salary is a very famous myth. Each base salary is competitive at the end, when the organization is able to hire new employees with the requested skills and competencies. The base salaries are inflexible and they are very closely attached to the region, the organization sits in.
The competitive base salaries are not driven just by the amount sent the current account of employees. The competitive base salary is driven by the following factors:
- Corporate Culture
- Management
- Brand Name
- Base Salary Level
The base salaries are not the only reason the employees work for the company. The base salary is a nice extra and many employees value the other aspects more than the amount on the current account. When the base salary reaches some basic level of the satisfaction, the pressure for the increase of the base salary gets lower and the employees prefer other aspects more.
All the aspect of the competitiveness are connected and the base salaries are not the most important factor. The organization should focus on other aspects as it does not influence the costs of the organization as the base salary does.
The base salaries are more competitive inside the organization than externally. The job market is not that important for employees, but the colleague sitting in the next cubicle is extremely important. The people feel extremely dissatisfied, when the differences in the base salaries are too high and they have no explanation for such differences.
It is not about the competitive base salary, but it is about the fair approach of the organization and it has a huge influence on the overall performance and satisfaction inside the company.
