Common HR Jobs and Career Path
The HR Departments in large organizations are quite standardized and they offer the same set of the HR Jobs. The job title can be slightly different, but the job content is usually the same.
HR offers two main career paths to its employees. One career path is mainly in the HR Back Office and Centers of Excellence and the second career path is in the front office.
It is very difficult to combine those two sets of skills and competencies in Human Resources. The HR Front Office does not like to analyze the data in Microsoft Excel and HR Centers of Excellence does not like to negotiate with the internal and external clients.
The common HR Jobs in HR Centers of Excellence are the following:
- HR Analyst
- HR Specialist
- HR Manager
The common HR Jobs in HR Front Office are:
- HR Consultant
- HR Senior Consultant
- HR Manager
The HR Analyst and HR Specialist are the jobs, where the employees can change their career path to a different HR Role. The HR Managers are usually experts and they are specialized in their major role and it is pretty difficult for them to change their role from HR Centers of Excellence to HR Front Office and vice versa.
