Benefits as the Competitive advantage

The benefits are a very important part of the compensation scheme. The organizations introduce the benefit plans and benefit schemes to help the managers to improve the retention of employees. The benefits should act as the competitive advantage, but the employees do not feel the effort of the employer and they take the contribution as a very small proportion of the total costs of the organization.

Honestly, the benefits are usually very similar in the industries and the companies offers the same sets of the benefits. The benefits are extremely expensive and the companies make the mistake. They do not invest the funds into a very limited and selected benefit plan, but they introduce a lot of benefits with a small contribution from the employer.

The organization should organize the survey and the employees should select the benefits, they see as valuable to their lives. The benefits should help to increase the performance and they should be focused on the personal lives of the employees. The employees will definitely select the most important benefits for them and the organization can focus the benefit budget to the real benefits for the employees.

Additionally, the preferences of employees can change during the life of the organization and the benefit survey should be repeated regularly as the organization can always change the focus of the benefit strategy and the budget is not lost, but it is really useful for the employees.
